Have you noticed that the 2012 Olympics had a bunch of errors? For instance the beeper went off before the even said take your mark in the Women's 100 BR. Here everyone thought the far favorite of the mile was about to be DQ'd...

Remember when your at your first swim meet that you'll be fine. Sometimes people get worried about their swims but just remember what you practiced, surely you've done starts before in practice so it shouldn't be difficult at all. You've trained so hard to swim well and now's the time to show-off what you can do so just go out and do that.
When going to your first swim meet you'll need to bring
  • All your swimming gear-(swimsuits, caps, goggles)
  • An extra pair of clothes (you'll need it when you get cold to put on so your muscles don't get cold-that way you can swim faster)
  • Snacks-I personally bring bottles of Gatorade and water, energy bars, crackers and nuts, and honey for quick energy (you can drink it before a race for some quick and simple carbohydrates, I recommend drinking it if you choose 15 minutes before you swim.)
  • Music- I personally don't listen to music that often but sure you can definitely bring headphones and an I-pod or something like that to listen to, I know it helps people sometimes :)
  • Blankets or Sleeping Bags- Trust me it'll keep you warm and you'll need that.
  • Towels- Your going to have to dry of sometime right?
  • I bring a bag to carry this all in you can buy these at amazon.com just look up swim backpacks after that.

Alright I know how nervous everyone is during their first swim meet so I'm creating a new folder containing all you'll ever need to know about that first swim meet
Alright I'm probably going to tell this to you anyways so I might as well tell you now. I got started in swimming because my sister was on the JV swim team for the high school I'm going to. She helps teach me things along with my dad and she and my dad probably have been one of the biggest contributors to my swimming success so far. Behind all that my mother is a great supporter of me too.
I'm just starting my new blogger account on swimming and this is going to be my first post. My blogger from here will be grow and I'm happy that this is how we'll start.
